WATER EXPERIENCE TRAIL

The new Water Experience Trail at Schloss Hof Estate

EXPERIENCE WATER AND HISTORY.

The newly constructed Water Experience Trail at Schloss Hof covers an area of around 2,000 m² and combines historical knowledge with educational experiences and makes the water cycle of the Baroque garden understandable in a playful way. A new attraction for young adventurers and those with a thirst for knowledge.

Water already played a central role at Schloss Hof in the 18th century. For Prince Eugene of Savoy, ponds and water features were an expression of creative power, prosperity and natural beauty. The new water experience trail continues this tradition - with information boards on the historical use of water and the function of the baroque pond landscapes.

The Water Experience Trail combines historical facts with interactive fun. Learn about the technology of Baroque water art, try out for yourself how water flows, is dammed and moved - and enjoy shady resting places under old trees. A highlight for families, school classes and anyone who wants to discover nature and history up close.

DISCOVER WITH ALL YOUR SENSES - THAT'S WHAT AWAITS YOU:

  • A large waterwheel as a symbol of baroque engineering
  • Manual water lifting systems and water arts to try out
  • A stream with spring stones, sluices and push buttons
  • Interesting information boards on the history of water technology and how it is used today
  • Barrier-free access to individual stations and paths
  • Numerous seating options, shady oases of peace under trees and awnings

FOCUS ON SUSTAINABILITY

The Water Experience Trail is not just a place to play and refresh, but was planned from the outset with water-conserving operation in mind. Thanks to motion detectors and manual controls, water only flows when you actively use it, without any waste. The water used during the day is not lost, but is reused for watering the baroque garden - a sustainable cycle that will delight you!
