By Bike from Vienna to Marchfeld

From Vienna, the Marchfeld Canal Cycleway is sixty kilometres long and leads to the gates of Schloss Niederweiden and Schloss Hof. As you ride along an idyllic riverbank landscape, you can gather impressions of an ecologically high-quality biotope with many flora and fauna and a whole number of important cultural landmarks and monuments. The route runs through a generally flat terrain with very few, sandy gradients, and is therefore provides no difficulties for less trained cyclists. You can find a tour guide with a practical overview map and lots of useful information here:

By bike and Nextbike and rail to Schloss Hof

Exit train at Marchegg Station and make the short journey to Schloss Hof on your own bicycle or a Nextbike (Nextbike stations in Marchegg and Schlosshof) to Schloss Hof!

Via the March to Schloss Niederweiden past Schloss Hof

The opening of the “Freiheitsbrücke” – “Freedom Bridge” –  a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge across the March landscape connecting the Slovakian town of Devinska Nová Ves with Schloss Hof – means that now nothing stands in the way of a cross-border trip on foot or by bike. From 15 March to 18 November 2018, there is the option at weekends and on Austrian and Slovakian public holidays of entering the Schloss Hof grounds via the eastern gate to the March, only a few minutes’ walk from the Freiheitsbrücke.
