The Christmas Market offers visitors many opportunities for an interactive experience during the Advent season within the cornerstones of crafts, cuisine, and Children’s World. An enormous Advent wreath, a starry sky and glistening snowflakes immerse the charming inner courtyards and the entire Schloss Hof Estate literally into a new light and send out the (pre-) Christmas spirit. To guarantee you don’t miss any stalls or programme items in the extensive area, over-dimensional guardian angels show you the way. There are also many new faces among the eighty or so exhibitors and stallholders, who present their wide-ranging assortment of products with great love of detail, both indoors and out. Sweet treats and hearty dishes, warming punch variations tempt you to linger at the unique bar tables designed in forms of animals and trees.
Arts & Crafts
Around eighty exhibitors and stallholders both indoors and outdoors form the heart of the Schloss Hof Christmas Market. They present a great variety of very personal gift ideas in the array of their lovingly made handicrafts. There are myriads of Christmas tree decorations in all forms (turned, crocheted, in lace or in felt), alongside cribs made of natural materials and hand-made gingerbread. Handmade jewelry makes a change as a gift, or you can breathe in the fragrance of natural soaps and beeswax candles. And there’s even more variety at certain weekends, when further craftspeople present their self-made products in the Orangery.
Gastronomy
Oven-baked potatoes, dumplings, goulash – or rather Kaiserschmarrn – “Emperor’s Nonsense”, a traditional Austrian dish made of pancake batter? Sweet and hearty treats and warming punch variations tempt you to linger and enjoy the fare at the unique bar tables designed in the form of animals and trees. You can also go for traditional fruit preserves and exotic chili and honey creations. And you can purchase gourmet delicacies and the Schloss Hof Christmas Market Beaker take home as a surprise for your favourite people and as souvenirs for yourself.
Children’s World
Children find the time waiting for Christmas Eve goes by like the wind when they join in the colourful programme of events.
Not only children can enjoy the nostalgic carriage at the carousel! To drive the Ringelspiel, you must be pedaling vigorously.
